This giant raccoon dog statue belongs in Mashiko, a well-known pottery town in Tochigi prefecture of Japan. I revisited this place in 2019.
The below is the public bathroom. Inside was clean. The outside was delightly covered with Mashiko-Yaki potteries
Pottery and antique stores here are museum quality.
The left is called Kintaro-ame. It is a Japanese traditional hard candy.

It is rather difficult to get to from Tokyo without a car. It is possible to get here by public transportation, but it will take about 3hours using JR, Mito, and Moka lines.
